Gary has 25 years of business and academic executive management and international research experience; including research management, general management, strategic and market planning, consultancy, policy and regulatory issues-management, energy and environmental technologies, advanced materials, environmental issues with extensive international partnership and liaison experience. He has particular experience in:

Research Management - Established and managed research groups and centres in electro-technologies, advanced materials, energy-policy and environmental studies and market research.

Strategic and Market Planning - Business and market development, and strategy for UK and international business opportunities, development and delivery of joint assessments and studies.

Regulatory and Policy - UK, European and US regulatory experience in energy markets and chemical risk assessment, including UK and US Government advisory roles.

Business Development - Experience in business profiling, business generation and relationship management for client retention and business growth.

Negotiating - Extensive experience in negotiating complex business and technical programmes and partnerships including European and consortium partnerships.
